Anyone know how the current rainfall compares with that in the 6 weeks
prior to Nov 14th 2000 here in East Yorkshire?
On that date in Nov 2000 we had springs rise in the fields surrounding
our village (Kirkburn) giving some slight flooding. As I remember it it
was approx a week after we had had 6 inches in around 3 weeks, which
seems to be similar to now.
Trevor.
Have checked Rob Overfield's records which give 130.6mm for October and
173.3mm for November, the bulk of which fell before 7th.
This month I have 235.7mm, excluding today, which has fallen in 2 weeks.
Rob's highest rainfall month previously was June 1997 with 176.0mm, High
Mowthorpe had 172.2mm.

David - invaluable information - many thanks indeed - we've activated out
village Civil Defence system - 1 tonne sandbags placed across the road
with a digger!
Anything to do with the mobile police command unit in Bainton last week????
Oh - it's raining!!!
