Default [WR] Rather wet in Sanday (for a change)

Surely you are mistaken Steve?

I heard on the BBC and read in countless papers that "Britain" had the
wettest June on record.

Can you check that Orkney is in Britain and your gauge for leaks etc.

Meanwhile I have recalibrated my rainfall figures, using a large
watering can, in order to bring my station up to MO guidelines.

Also make sure that you dont use any readings before 19:14 pm as I have
heard that this is now against policy.

Here in the Orkney desert, we've had 30mm of rain in the last 12 hours,
it's still coming down steadily and it seems there's plenty more on the
way.

This compares to the total of 12mm for the entire month of June. The
last 12 hours have contributed more than 10% of our total rainfall for
the year so far, currently standing at 287mm.
