One of the problems in London is that so many people have paved or
concreted their gardens over, either for car standing or perhaps just
because they hate nature, who can tell.
Well, one upside of the wetness is that I have only applied water to my
allotment by hand twice this year, whereas last year I was up there
every morning at 6 and often again in the evenings just trying to keep
it moist enough for things to survive.
The downside this year has been poor germination, particularly of beans,
poor pollination, tomato blight in the greenhouse, and of course it is
lovely weather for slugs...
