A horrendous evening !! - something I will remember for a long while.
To busy to take my own photos this time around !!

The Alston Rrain gauge measured 33.6mm, with 28mm in the same time
period as yourself !!

Just shows that even a couple of miles away there can be fast
differences in rainfall totals

How does this compare with that t-storm of 2004 ?

The Garrigill Road from the B6277 is closed beyound Thortergill. Water has
got under the 2" thick tarmac surface and lifted chunks of it away at
Garrigill Bridge and buckled an area. This water then flowed along the
road for several hundred yards at least a foot deep before washing out 20
odd foot section of wall to get back into the river.

Pictures of the aftermath will probably appear on my web site later
tonight.
