Default Mid Suffolk always favoured

Whilst everyone must have much sympathy with the flood afflicted
areas, I realise how lucky we have been in this area.
The past two weeks or so have seen many active Cb's quite close but
never over my area and only very light showers recorded. Fridays
deluge turned out to provide 7.8 mm total and yesterday (Sat) was back
to Cb's in sight with a very brief shower at 1900 local, another
overnight - total in gauge this morning 2.0 mm.
Sat brought plenty of sunshine, with combine harvesting of barley
underway all afternoon with plenty of dust, and I also note that the
irrigation of local potato fields continues.

Rainfall to date this month 49 mm, of which 37mm in first week.
Bearing in mind that evaporation rates average around 3mm a day we
could almost have a current deficit.
See July figures for Brooms Barn Bury St Edmunds including rainfall
and evaporation.
