Whilst everyone must have much sympathy with the flood afflicted
areas, I realise how lucky we have been in this area.
The past two weeks or so have seen many active Cb's quite close but
never over my area and only very light showers recorded. Fridays
deluge turned out to provide 7.8 mm total and yesterday (Sat) was back
to Cb's in sight with a very brief shower at 1900 local, another
overnight - total in gauge this morning 2.0 mm.
Rainfall to date this month 49 mm, of which 37mm in first week.

Total rainfall in Canterbury for the "event" on Friday was a meagre
1.3mm. Since Thursday I've recorded just 1.8mm of rain. Total for the
month is now 67.3mm with most of that coming on the 9th (23.6mm), 14th
(9.9mm) and 15th (11.9mm).
