I've been posting this sort of stuff for quite a while now, as in years.
Haven't you noticed? Heat waves are not unusual in summer, it's just
that this one has been a little hotter and lasted a little longer than
previous ones, as evidenced by how much higher the temperatures were
compared with earlier records as those stations.
But, for a thrill, Go West Young Man, it's freezing out there....
