You keep posting these numbers as though they're meaningful. Let's
look at Modesto to see if that is, in fact, true.
From the above you're implying that there is record warm spell
occurring in that city. But, that's really not the case.
104 is a record for the 31st of August mainly because 103 set in 1958
was the fourth lowest high temperature record set for August.
In the month of August there are 26 other days that match or exceed
104 degrees. Within several days of August 31st you have 105 & 106 in
1931, 104 in 1944, 105 in 1981, 106 on the 30th in 1988.
The first three day records in September were set in the 50's of 103,
106, 105.

In other words, I personally feel that you're wasting your time.

Also, do you notice that when they show "Ties" it's only with one
previous year. The same temperature reading in previous years does
not get carried forward.
