Default [WR] St Albans - not so wet

Yesterday's storm produced a total of 7.6mm of rain which is clearly much
lower than surrounding areas. I drove back here from Buntingford via
Hertford late yesterday evening and the rain was torrential at times as far
ast Hatfield with a lot of standing water on the roads. From there to St
Albans the Rin was lighter and there was far less water on the roads.
During the first part of the drive there were some impressive falshes of
lightning which illuminated the whole sky at times.

It all goes to show how varaible rainfall amuonts can be over relataively
small areas.

Indeed. Only 12.5 mm in Chalfont St Giles for the whole event up to
1230z today. Another very pleasant morning on the golf course today with
only the odd spot of rain now and again.
