Yes exactly. These sort of ana cold fronts can spawn tornadoes along
their length (and it was quite an active long cold front), so the BBC
News article doesn't come as a surprise.
The long lost Dave Reynolds (formerly/still?) of TORRO I recall was
writing something on the 24th October 1995 cold front that had several
tornadoes along it.
