Just reported on 5 live. No specifics but 4 diff reports phoned in..

I have installed an AWS in Luton, a km or so from my long-standing
manual station, in order to provide a long overlap before it finally has
to go. As luck would have it, it's just 350m from the site of the alleged
tornado sighting. I had a poke around the area this morning, and found
no damage visible from the street around Black Swan Lane where the
reports came from. There was no damage in the vicinity of the AWS
either, but the data showed it to be a pretty impressive ana cold front.
My inclination is to ascribe the damage to straight-line winds, until and
unless evidence on-site demonstrates otherwise. The damage area,
as far as I can ascertain is, at a maximum, 5m x 30m, and probably
a good bit less than that.
I've uploaded graphs from the AWS he

The anemometer is only 2m above ground-level but it's reasonably
well exposed to the south and west.
