My 24 hour maximum up to 0900z Thursday 27th September was 11.1C.
Interestingly, this was lower than 22 days last winter. 10 in December
2006, 7 in January 2007, and 5 in February 2007. Although yesterday
was certainly chilly for September, I think the statistics are more a
reflection on just how exceptionally mild last winter was. For the
record, yesterday was the coldest September 24 hour maximum in my
stations short history (1992-2007) beating my previous record of 11.6C
set on the 19th September 2001.
