Perhaps he'll be phoning Piers at some point today and tell him to
stop treating people like fools...

October 26th to 31st or Nov 1st. Storm gusts of 80 to 100mph in
places. This is likely to be a major storm period but probably only a
'warm-up' for what is to come in November. It is good there is now no
election (eg on Nov 1st ) because the election period would have been
severely disrupted (NB warning of the storms was passed on to the
Labour leadership). The storm will track East and likely (80%
confident) affect Holland, Denmark, South Norway, South Sweden and
parts of North Germany.

Piers spoke to our R Met Soc group in Durham some time ago. He is
certainly a character and also an entertaining speaker.
He loves publicity and also appears to love winding people up. He is
certainly succeeding on this ng! (as many others seem to (;0)

Well, as I said earlier, I e-mailed Weather Action and he kindly replied
personally(several times, with some sales stuff thrown in!) .He clearly
believes that this was still a great forecast and about 85% correct. In fact
he was claiming accuracy before the dates had even arrived! You just have to
accept him for the self publicist he is. It's a bit like trying to tell
Jehovah's Witnesses the world didn't begin 10,000 years ago - you'll never
win ;-)
