While it was quite chilly (+1C) by dawn at the surface the profiles

didn't support precipitation, let alone anything frozen.

Looking at the sequence I suspect some moisture was being deposited due to
the fog and the automatics registered this as snow between 0150Z and 0250Z.
The then derived recent snow (RESN) got left on the manual ob at 0420Z
