Default Global Warming !!!!

The Larsen B ice sheet had not warmed either. These ice shelves melt from
beneath as the ocean warms.

The houses in Sandbanks are around the most expensive in the world, so
I imagine they are owned by London millionaires.

Cheers, Alastair.

That's strange I've been led to believe that the temperature data for the
Ross Ice shelf hasn't really varied that much in the last several decades!
and if anything Antartica was defying all IPPC models and experts and is
growing colder, So why should it collapse?

Who owns the beach house? Its very safe.

I don't think you quite understand Lawrence,

If the Ross Ice Shelf collapses in the same way that the
Larsen B ice shelf did, and the West Antarctic ice sheet
slides into the sea after it, then the ice cream salesmen
on our beaches will be in trouble, along with many Londoners,
especially those with beach houses in Sanbanks, Poole.

Cheers, Alastair.

Alastair and Peter. "There is a tide in the affairs of men" and in our

life
times and beyond-it's not going to change by very much. The ice cream
salesmen of our British coastal towns are safe.

Alastair. Waiting for signs of GW or GC is like "Waiting for Godot"

(I'm
being generous here) The truth is, much ain't really changed

really....
has
it?

Climate does not change slowly, it changes in jumps. We first found
that out in the 1970s from ocean sediment cores and other
paleoclimatic evidence. It was later confirmed in the 1990s
by ice cores from Greenland. The lack of a steep change
in temperature is quite consitent with that evidence. A sudden abrupt
rise, which will happen without warning, is the most likely outcome of
our increasing the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide by over 30%.

HTH,

Cheers, Alastair.
