Tom ,I can confirm your other halfs comments about the rain in Ilford,
Here in Woodford Green ,about 3 miles NorNor West of Ilford clocked up 5mm
between 1540 and 1555 BST,and its been showering ever since... 1720.

Same here, Dave, but the rain's coming down in larger spots now. Lovely
coppery tint to the Cu visible through the haze to the SSW. My other
half
in Ilford (about 12 miles west of me here ) has just said that it's been
raining heavily but now the sun's come out.

Possibly something more substantial is building around here - it
certainly
has a thundery feel about it.
