Outbreaks of rain in western Scotland on Wednesday night. Showers later in
SW England and south Wales moved into the Midlands on Thursday morning.
Rain moved across Wales in the morning and further into NW England and
eastern Scotland in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms developed
near the Bristol Channel in mid-afternoon and moved NE intensifying across
the Midlands and NE England into the North Sea by mid-evening
