Apart from the obvious benefits of cheaper heating heating bills is
anyone on here (south of York) honestly enjoying this current weather.
It might be over 14c - but it is damp, overcast and dull - utterly
awful.
Whatever happened to our crisp, January days of sun, 5c and no wind...
It's excellent golfing weather :-)
Aren't the course and greens waterlogged after all this rain?

I was thinking that. Even ours fairways are getting squidgy and we've only
had 37mm so far this month.

I have had 82mm in St Albans but the ground is very free draining - one of
the benefits of living on gravelly soil. The Batchwood golf course was in
full use this morning without any obvious pools of water. The main problem
would be the drizzle that has started again this afternoon.
