mild hopelessness

Apart from the obvious benefits of cheaper heating heating bills is
anyone on here (south of York) honestly enjoying this current weather.
It might be over 14c - but it is damp, overcast and dull - utterly
awful.
Having spent much of the day yesterday in a waterlogged field in Berkshire
(along witht some muddy wolves and muddier photographers) I'd be inclined to
agree - it's hard to think of a more dismal setup for the time of year. The
fact it was as warm as late April was scant consolation.
That said, the drizzle eased for an hour or so and some of us were able to
have lunch outdoors: quite surreal sitting outside eating food in the middle
of January!
As a side note, I'm amazed at the difference between Kent and Berkshire at
the moment. Those wolves are a hundred miles away yet it feels like the
other side of the world: no flooded fields and squelchy grass here!
