Hi Ken,

Love your reports. Total contrast to the yucky damp and very mild stuff we have
here on Dartmoor at the moment. Snowfall is well down on normal up here. Just 2
days snow falling and 3 days with sleet. Total fall in January - a wet and icy
1cm and that only for a few hours and only on grass, 1 day with 2-5 cm higher
up. I think I'm right in saying that western Britain tends to get more snow in
February and March when the seas are at their coldest. That has certainly been
the case up here on Dartmoor in recent years. Obviously in NE Britain the cold
air can get trapped and the North Sea is cooler anyway. I know you're not that
keen on snow (probably because you get a lot) but do I sense a tinge of
excitement in your posts of late, maybe not? :-)

Cheers, from a very mild +9.4C and drizzly Dartmoor,

Hi, Will,

Snow and I have a love hate relationship. I love it really(;0)), but
hate the chaos when it outstays its welcome.
I also love the constant changes - mild tomorrow, cold with snow
chance again Thursday and then the Pennine Wave on Friday.
If it was constantly warm or cold I think I would be bored. Copley
weather is just right!
The snow will come down there - there are three months yet and the
current unusual mild spell with you surely must be a one-off and not a
sign of things to come.
