Why and where did this feely touchy nonsense creep into what should be
perfectly straight forward forecasts, saying how it is and not what some
abitary thinktanker decides for us.
Oh bring Bert Foord I say...now you can all bugger off.
*Who said I'm feeling tetchy ?

You must be getting old, Ron, not that I'm exactly a
youth. I basically agree with your gripe. I would say to a
forecaster "You tell me the temperature; *I'll* tell you how it
feels." At times they could add some qualification about humidity,
say, or windiness. Even sunshine. But not windchill. A temperature
of 5°C and a 20 mph does not feel the same as -5°C and a calm, even if
the rate of loss of heat from a Standard Sheep, by some conventional
formula, is the same. The feel is quite different. Just give us the
figures and treat us as adults.
