.... well, if he did say that, then it's an oversight: there are plenty
of METAR & SYNOP reporting stations showing that it is still pretty
windy across the northern-half of the UK, and there is currently a
particularly anomalous 'squeeze' across the northern Pennines as the
upper ridge drifts in from the west.
