Day max. 11.7C (5 degrees above normal and more like early May).
Very little wind and mainly sunny, COTRA disappeared by afternoon. Haze layer
persisting below 200m asl.
Now temperature is falling like a stone and is already down to +4.1C .
All car parks at Haytor were full this afternoon with folk parking on the road.
More like a snowy, sledging day or a fine day in summer. Took a stroll up onto
Hay Tor rock this afternoon to enjoy the views in the unusually still and clear
air.
Gorgeous day!

Extensive mist/fog over Teign valley into Newton Abbot and Teignmouth. Hills
above Teignmouth poking out like islands above a white lumpy cloud. Smoke from
clay pits near Kingsteignton merging with cloud. A "wolkensee" morning in
Haytor
with no wind, extensive hoar frost and a slippery lane. Min -0.2C.
Sunny with a lot of COTRA and some very high cirrus circa 35000 feet. Temp now
soaring and is up to 4.1C already. Promises to be a super walking day on
Dartmoor (Nick!). Nice to wake up to a white landscape for a change too :-)
Will.
