Not just the SE. Forecasts of mean speeds 40mph in Cornwall, even
for sheltered spots like Penzance - so gusts to 70mph seem likely in
exposed spots. No warning about that, but there is now a 60% risk of
disruption due to snow on Scilly, (according the SW Weather Warnings
page) despite the fact that the temperature isn't forecast to fall
below 5C on the Islands.
Local weather mentioned 70mph+ gusts on N.Somerset coast - last time I
recorded a gust 48knts here (only 5m above ground level) plenty of
roof-tile damage occured in the village and quite a few trees were upended
in the surrounding environs....
