Default Lack of snow!

Offering another straw to clutch at, 1975 also had lying snow in June in
East Anglia.

I wouldn't have thought so!

We had snow in June 1975 but it wasn't lying, and we are 228 metres asl
in North Staffordshire.

The latest lying snow I've recorded was May 2nd 1979

1978-79 was unique really with snow lying days in every month from
November to May including the whole of January and February.
Over 80 snow lying days from November 1978 to May 1979, I've only had 85
snow lying days in the last 8 years (2001 to 2008).

How amazing is that, even more so when you think of the mild Winters we
now get, chances of that happening again must be zero!
