Ok, this is all a bit tongue in cheek (or a couple of drinks!) - but
in your own way I think you are correct in principal. The Met Office
are just going with the flow. If todays fashion is global warming they
will go along with it and try and make money and as soon as the next
fashion of 'the coming ice age' arrives they will adjust their story.
It's just business - that's the way the system works today. I don't
believe a word any politician says and when it comes to tomorrows
weather I prefer to have a look at the satellite pic and draw my own
conclusions! (Doh, that is assuming they are putting out real satpics!)

Seen any cold spells in the last twenty years? I really don't know why but
the UK is warmer. Fact.

You know Patricia Hewitt got away with saying that 2005 was the
coldest winter for 40 odd years, no seemingly batted an eye-lid.Yet as
the Minister for health how long would it have taken to get the facts
from the same UKMO that professes to have such a good working
relationship with the NHS.

of us doubt that the world has become slightly warmer (regardless of
dodgy USA temps) however considering the age of the planet 4.5 billion
years; this predicted climate change must come as a bit of a shock to
poor old mother earth. I mean the poor old girl has never experienced
it before.

It's good to have open minded headlines on UKMO like

"Climate change may devastate crop yields" Oh yeah well we aint done
too bad in the last hundred years of warming have we and come to think
of it things seemed to improve after the little ice age. So why are
UKMO so adamant things are going to be worse. My god I'd love to look
at the poilitics of some of their leading figures.
