Unusually light and orangey across sky and houses so later

after
sunset.
1745 East Yorkshire.

Despite 7 oktas stratocumulus at 5000ft (sc perlucidus), the pink
glow was very much in evidence shortly after sunset here here on

Fair
Isle. It was very much enhanced by the haze reducing the

visibility
to 12km.
Rather interestingly, just before sunset, the sky took on a very

pale
lime green colouration that slowly faded to be overtaken by the
orange glow at dusk.

Do you think that was a green flash? http://en.wikipedia.

Cheers, Alastair.

Too long a duration for a flash - lasted about five minutes. But I
guess it could have been a similar phenomena - differing refraction
of light of different colour (wavelength) by the atmosphere.
