Most of those are excellent examples of Cirrocumulus lacunosus,
clouds I have seen on just a handful of occasions over the years
and have only photographed twice, once on 14 April 1979 and
the other on 11 August 2005. The amazing thing was that both
photos were taken from exactly the same spot; Hound Tor on
Dartmoor in Devon.


Wow! Just 2 miles from my house as the crow flies, in fact I will be walking
from there tomorrow! You do get some wonderful cloud scene-scapes up on the
moor.
