eg.. pre christian era,iron age, dinousaur age?...

The time around the Norman Conquest and the writing of the Domesday book
is the best reference point ie, 11th century or thereabouts.

Before that the Post Glacial optimum in the Atlantic Period would have
been about 7000 years bp IIRC.
