my word sawing wood Philip , ..................are you expecting it
to
be that bad (snowy) this coming weekend ;-)

.... well, you never know; some similaritity with the Easter w/e of
1975 (28th - 31st), when there was a good few inches of snow reported
lying in the centre of Birmingham on Maundy Thursday & at Bracknell
(Berkshire), not exactly "high-level", 5 to 8 cm of lying snow was
reported by 0900 on Good Friday morning: plenty of off-duty observers
then of course!

Models quite consistent as to the plunge of cold air on a cyclonic
NW'ly (initially), then settling down to a cold northerly type.

Martin.
