This is probably a simple fault to correct, but I need some advice
please.
Although I am still receiving e-mails, I am no longer able to send
mail via either of my two e-mail accounts.
Is there a simple trouble-shooting remedy you could suggest, apart
from change my mail software!
Thanks in anticipation

Is it a demon account by any chance? If it is, I'm having the same
issue (error msg below) and wonder whether it's demon rather than my
system ...? I've tried demon support but they are as slow and useless
as ever.
" The message could not be sent because the server rejected the
sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was
'. Subject ' -deleted-',
Account: 'Demon Internet', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '553 From: address not verified; see
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html',
Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number:

Demon (and BT) are very picky about the exact smtp/post server
stipulated. *I don't know how this works in Outlook Depressed, but in
Turnpike, which I use, while you can set any name you like as the sender
address or reply-to address, the posting server in the connection
dialogue has to be the right one for the ISP. *Is it possible that some
autocomplete feature *(perhaps helpfully installed in a recent Windows
update?) has rewritten your server details? *To something like
'smtp.bablake.co.uk' instead of the proper BT or Namesco server?
Stephen's problem looks as if it coiuld be something like that - it
looks as if he is trying to connect to the BT mail server with a Demon
ID.

Thanks Kate - that's a start - can you suggest where would the
settings have been changed and how to change them back? Or would you
suggest re-setup my Outlook Express/Demon mail all over again?
All help gratefully appreciated!
