Coldest Easter BH since when?

Not sure if anyone has got detailed figures on this, but have just
been looking over the maxima for Heathrow/03772 last few days.
Easter Sunday 18Z max: 5.2°C
Easter Monday 18Z max: 5.5°C
And of course, other spots in east & SE England (as well as large
areas of NE & N Scotland) had low day maxima.
Looking back at a *very* rough record of 'London area' temperatures I
have and it looks as if you have to go back to at least 1964
(29th/30th March that year for these two days) to find similarly low
values, and I have noted them as 'around 6degC', so perhaps this year
was still colder. 1958 was also cold (but from 'London Weather' it
looks as if it was still warmer than this year), and from the same
publication, 1936 (not a late Easter, 12/13April) looks as if it might
have equalled or perhaps be colder than this year - I'm trying to
interpret the rather small diagrams at the back of the book.
Anyone got more definitive data on this?
Martin.

I think with Easter being so early, it's easy to give impressive
figures, after all, all things being =, it should have been the
coldest Easter since the 19th Century.
Comparing it with the same dates shows it was not particularly cold,
certainly as far as Cornwall was concerned.
23rd 10.7C
It was colder in 1992 - 10.0C & 2006 10.2C
24th 11.4C
9.9 in 1992, 10.1 in 1993 etc.
In fact taking the Bank Holiday week end (21st-24th inclusive) the
average max temperature was 10.4C
In 2006, just 2 years ago, the same period was colder, with an average
max. of 9.3C.
For a really cold late March spell, the w/c 16/3/06 takes a lot of
beating. The average Max for the week was just 7.1C - exceptionally
low for these 'ere parts, and 3.3C lower than the Easter '08 Bank
Holiday period.
12.3C now, and with strong sunshine & little wind it's glorious.
