Definitely been colder Easters in Cornwall IIRC. I remember watching Truro
in their annual Old Dunstonians fixture in the snow in the seventies and my
sister was born 25 March 1970 with Easter soon after and snow then as well.

In March 1970 I was on a 'A' Level Geography Field Trip to the
Mendips, and there was plenty of snow. We stayed in Youth Hostel
called Wilderhope Manor, which was extremely basic even by 1970's YHA
standards. The toilets were not only outside, but several yards down a
snow covered path. (The dormitory windows provided a much better
solution!)
