Definitely been colder Easters in Cornwall IIRC. I remember watching

well.

In March 1970 I was on a 'A' Level Geography Field Trip to the
Mendips, and there was plenty of snow. We stayed in Youth Hostel
called Wilderhope Manor, which was extremely basic even by 1970's YHA
standards. The toilets were not only outside, but several yards down a
snow covered path. (The dormitory windows provided a much better
solution!)

When I said Mendips, I actually meant Wenlock Edge. (So many field
trips, I get confused) I see Wilderhope Manor still going

and it's got a bar now!

I took Geology groups there in the late 1970's. I recall that the toilets
had (officially) moved indoors by then but it has certainly changed now.
