Dunno Vince ... I didn't notice it here although I did notice that the
fields at the top of the Downs were almost swept clear of snow
when I did my 09z observation walk there, which suggests that
the wind had been stronger than the F3 I reported. My feeling is
that there is likely to have been an increase in wind on the back edge
of the mesoscale feature which brought the snow as the northerly
kicked in again ... similar to a squall at a proper cold front.
Perhaps someone following the synoptic detail could answer.
