I'm afraid you leave yourself open here to the question - was it the
storm causing the dog to huddle in the corner ? )

The storm probably started some time before I noticed - we can be noisy
people, and also had the lights blazing in nearly every room (so much
for the environment). The house martins, which are now out of the nest
most of the time, were back in it and tucked up in bed early last night.
