0807Z: slight thunderstorm (max rate 3 discharges/min), as rain
becomes moderate.
0810-0815Z: very short bursts of heavy rain, but discharge rate
decreased - a couple of 'classic' CC streamers seen.
0835Z: moderate rain, but last thunder heard at this time.
0845Z: not heard thunder for 10 mins, and rain eased back to slight ..
OVC AC (cast, just, but mostly LYR with suggestion of AS).
0855Z: slight rain ... similar cloud, nothing threatening: off to
measure rainfall, but I don't think it'll be excessive.

Two 'spikes' on the local electricity network: we are served by
largely overhead distribution so storms will easily cause problems -
we seem to have got away with it!
