Helen Willets said at 09:27 on news24 "It's been a record breaking night,
very warm indeed". She then went straight into the forecast without giving
any information on what records were broken.
We recorded an overnight minimum of 19.5C here in Coventry, making this
the warmest night on record in the city - records date back to 1892.
The previous high was 19.4C in 1997.
For the record, Sunday was the hottest day of 2004 so far up here with
a maximum of 30.2C - hot humid and breezy.
