UK forecast for remainder of Summer 2008
Temperature
We continue to predict an enhanced chance of more frequent cloudy and cool
spells compared to recent summers prior to 2007. Nevertheless, mean
temperatures are more likely to be above the 1971-2000 average.
Rainfall
Our forecasting methods favour above-average or near-average rainfall for
the remainder of the summer period.
Geez How grim can THAT be. Now all thats left till Autumn arrives (which
ain't long now) is eternal optimism, (the main thrust of this newsgroups
devotees) or we cling to the usual " it could be worse" comments - well
don't bother with either, I already know.

Honestly, you are living in the wrong country, Dave. This is a
forecast which reflects the "typical" British summer. This is what we
get from our position on the Western edge of a continent facing a
large ocean. The forecast implies warmth and sunshine, from time to
time and possibly more of it than we might expect, if we took the long-
term average into account.
Dave; what exactly do you expect from our summer?
