Average of just over 8mm/hr. 3" in that time scale is not uncommon up here
but would bring the rivers and streams up rather a lot and produce
flooding in all the normal places. In an urba area I'd expect to see
reports of flooding, particulary as the media has a thing about flooding
ATM after last year.
