It's official, however everyone I have spoken to back 'home'
have told
me how cold and miserable it has been. Reading this article is
a bit
of a shock. What is going on ?

Where is 'back home' for you? May here was glorious. Bright,
sunny, dry and a pleasant breeze to discourage midges and make
it possible to walk without getting too hot.
