Surely the latter part, rain being evenly distributed throughout the
year, has traditionally been fairly true, at least in eastern areas,
where every months typically has a mean between 50mm and 75mm. There may
be a slight tendency for an autumn max and a spring min, but it's not
very pronounced. (Of course, summer rain tends to be less prolonged than
winter rain, but heavier so that mean totals are similar.)
