I am not surprised at all at your report -.......... there was torrential rain around
Kingston at the time (cloud band moving south) and my 24 h total to 09h
Saturday a few km to west was 15.0mm.

No gauge here,but not surprised at any of these totals judging from rain that fell in Catford.
The RAOB is highly supportive of convection presuming it's representative of the 'pre frontal'
airmass.

What also surprised me was that I got the feeling some cells seem electrified while nearby ones
appeared not to be,
