Hi Colin,

I'm not at work, so I can not say if Portland has had any sig rain
since 18Z when I left, but there was a false report of approx 9mm
around the middle of the day today that I had pulled from the obs. I
therefore suspect that the real value was less than the 10mm quoted.
Can check tomorrow if someone else can't confirm or not.

Steve.

Thanks for pointing this out, Steve. Portland 10 mm is listed on
http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/weather/extremes/ but the list of
decoded synods I look at
http://www.vwkweb.nl/cms/index.php?o...per&Itemid=109 gives 0.6
mm for Portland. As these totals are for the period up to 18Z, any rain
since then should not be included anyway.
