If you go down from the Pleiades and go slightly right at the
Base of
the Clouds the Orange Star you see is Betelgeuse. One of the
"Shoulder" Stars of Orion. So in answer to your Question - No.
I remember seeing Orion rising a little before sunrise at Crater Lake in
mid-Auguat some years ago. I like this time of the year - we start
getting hints that winter isn't all that far away.
Hmm. Got to go - seems the Seattle villagers have a hankerin' to run me
out of town...
