I remember seeing Orion rising a little before sunrise at Crater Lake
in mid-August some years ago. I like this time of the year - we
start getting hints that winter isn't all that far away.

I haven't to Crater Lake since '64. I'll never forget the DEEP
BLUE of
the Water. As too the time of Year, what's nice for me with my Eastern
Horizon being so low is I'm generally at least 1/2 Season ahead of
most of my Amateur Astronomer friends in what I'm viewing ;-)

Hmm. Got to go - seems the Seattle villagers have a hankerin' to run
me out of town...

Why? Are they going to blame you because the Rain is going to go
from
Warm to Cool? ;-)

Despite the fact this week is our statistically driest and warmest, we
pulled off a couple rainy days, including setting a daily record for
rainfall on Thursday. Climatologically, there is a less the 10% chance of
rain. It's been a somewhat strange year... But, yeah - folks around here
get a bit touchy if they don't get to dry out the rust now and then.

Not quite weather related, though. Yell if y'all need a Crater Lake
floodlet. I can do that... =)

Yes. It's ~that~ blue.
