Today, after a cloudy but basically dry morning with the ( temperature
16.5-17C mid morning), by 14:00 it was very cool & wet with the temp
15.6C. That's 6C lower than yesterday & the coolest afternoon for a
very long time.

Started raining here around 2pm and the temperature has been dropping ever
since. Reached a max of 19.0°C this morning after an overnight low at 3am
with 16.6°C; current temperature is 15.6°C.

How often in the summer time is it warmer at 3am in the morning than 3pm the
following day!! Something I would have expected in the winter but not in
early August.

I have to go all the way back to the 28th of May to find an afternoon
temperature lower than this afternoon's dismal effort.
