Penzance - Dry & Bright
Snip
But then again, if it is easy for you to live outside of the normal
'rat-race' (for the want of better words) as once I did when I lived in
London, then I suppose you are not part of the " suburban estate
lifestyle". I feel I am 'outside' that regime too but maybe it is because we
are the minority and so you have to except (patronising bit here) the
standard TV forecasts (which is what I think you are going on about). I
can't remember when I last watched a national TV weather forecast, a long
time ago methinks.
I threw a whole load of wildflower seed on my front garden last autumn.
Looks amazing now when the sun is shining with all the native species in
flower. Will mow it when all the flowers have seeded. Certainly attracts the
butterflies and bumble bees.

I did live in NW London for 5 years - which I enjoyed, I also lived
near Swindon for some time - which wasn't so good. I've also worked
for large firms (which I disliked) and much smaller firms (like Isles
of Scilly Skybus) which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've also nothing
against conserving the environment, quite the reverse in actual fact.
What I'm against is some sort of assumed middle class norm that so
much TV (not just forecasts) is aimed at.
One impression that's been re-inforced by running holiday
accomodation, and getting to know a large variety of people from
different backgrounds, is that the majority are very individual. Most
have led far more interesting lives than you might at 1st assume. It's
been as bit of an eye opener in many ways.
