Yet,,, there's still people that claim, that global warming is
exaggerated.
Southern Atlantic Ocean *Temperatures approaching
90 degrees in some spots.
Lake Erie, isn't far from reaching hurricane favorable
temperatures. However, there's not even close to enough
area for a full hurricane to form.
There is however plenty of space for strong storms to
form off of the lakes waters, and come across PA.
This is what I believe happened to us at one point this
past summer.
Official explanation? Rapid changing temperatures of a
cold front caused moisture to form rapidly, giving us
strong storms.
One official tornado was reported with these thunderstorms.
Moisture from where? The news didn't report where that
moisture came from. My explanation is the waters of
Lake Erie is getting that warm during summer months, that the water
is evaporating at rapid rates. During high pressure, it's not all that
apparent. But when low pressure is in the right place, at the right time
for long enough, it condenses into clouds, and can cause nasty weather.
Thank god, the lakes large enough for hurricanes are far from being
warm enough to even get started.
Cause for alarm this winter?
Much, Greenland has just lost quite a bit of ice fast. The cold from it
is sinking fast, causing an unusual slow down of the normal current.
It is causing a cool down in air temperature in the area.
I believe this is going to be a slightly cooler then normal winter for
us here in PA and other coastal states in the New England area.
I have this feeling in my gut, that Erie PA will not be the only part
of PA that will get Lake Effect snow.
What's interesting, is Lake Erie's winter temperatures get close to
the 1927 normal temperatures.
Give or take, a few degrees. Minor, compared to summer temperatures.

I love the buffaloes on NOAA's background.
"They" are actually bison but there is only one of them and it looks
like gnu.
The alarm calls that have been put out by so called experts were
probably no such thing originally but
PR and media feeding frenzies on
no news days has built it up in some sort of pyramid scam.
In my youth, CO 2 levels were much as they are no given the primitive
equipment used to measure the volumes. Modern traps are far more
accurate but no big differences are involved especially when
considering the atmosphere heights considered then and now.
And it's the same with statistics over a period of years where the
differences are mere degrees. Wholesale failure to realise you can't
compare mean temperatures with one-offs or means taken over a short
term.
It is a meaningless exercise. It's like saying the average position of
the sun is overhead because if you average its position morning noon
and evening that's what you get.
You get a spate of high temperatures because of runs of exceptional
weather and you end up with the results that were written about in the
bible, now and again things happen.
You can't say it is global warming. We do know that poor land
management leads to destructive repurcussions as for example bad
farming techniques from the 1870's and earlier lead to the dust bowl
famines of the 1930's in the USA.
The same is true of the floods a decade earlier when they removed all
the trees in the Mississippi watershed and then wondered at the
flooding.
The same is true in Britain where virtually all our natural marshland
is drained, almost all our rivers turned into sewers and those that
are not are tightly constrained, then we get a wet year and houses
that were built an hundred years ago are flooded for the first time.
Ah we built new housing in flood plains and then global warming came
and killed our families.
Nuts to that.
