Starting out on weather recording - help!

I want to start taking readings of rainfall, min/max temperature and also
air pressure. But I have a few questions and would be really grateful if
someone would answer them for me.
1. Should a barometer be set to read the exact air pressure where it is set
or should it be adjusted to mean sea level where it is?
This is the only one that I am competent to answer. It should be
adjusted to mean sea level.
